Not Mayberry

Can a shy, retiring teacher from the big city find true happiness in the small town of Wilkesboro NC, which even the locals call "Moonshine Capital of the World."

Bananny, the sister-in-law, is forcing me to write this...

... down here in this pestilential swamp hole, I have discovered that the tachinos are better, probably because of the atmosphere, the avacates are great, the kiwi superb, and the sore spot in my throat goes away.

There - I said it. Now I am going back to have a beer.

everything else sucks. really.

Well, then! How about Four Green Fields? How about Bayshore? How about cafe con leche and Cuban bread toasted? How about the tapas at Vizcaya? Tea time at Mother's? The possibility of seeing the Stripper Mobile on Dale Mabry? OK- maybe not that. The airport? I could go on.

Well sure, but other than the Four Green Fields, Bayshore Blvd at night, the Vizcaya, Mother's Little Tea House, the Stipper Mobile, Borders, Barnes and Nobles, drinking beer under the palms at Tank's Pub, and the airport, WHAT HAS IT GOT!?!

A gawdforsaken pestilential steaming swamp hole.

(ps: what the heck is unlifting?)

"Uplifting"....tongue-in-cheek regarding your original post.
