My old neighborhood! Back in one of my hometowns ....... which would be the Hill area of DC, the Nation's Capitol. Carmen found
this video - I don't watch fashion videos. I wasn't interested in the
fashionistas but in the background. It is a street that I have spent a LOT of time on since it is right across the street from the Library of Congress. When I was working on my MA thesis back in '74 I drove in from the farm and found a parking space right in front of one of these restaurants and watering holes you see. Every 2 hours of working in the reading room I would come out and feed the meter.
Now my best friend
Sherrod lives right around the corner and I can't remember the number of times I have stayed at their townhouse. On the end of the block is the infamous
Tune Inn, right nextdoor the
Hawk and Dove which you can see. It is a favorite hangout for Capitol Hill youngsters in Congress.
I am very fond of the place and really do think of the area as my hometown. It is only about an hours drive or less from my real hometown, Hamilton, and the place where I was born, Leesburg (former and very temporary capitol of the USA back in the War of 1812).
