Not Mayberry

Can a shy, retiring teacher from the big city find true happiness in the small town of Wilkesboro NC, which even the locals call "Moonshine Capital of the World."

Maybe he was heading for Mayberry:
"A man reported missing from a Florida psychiatric hospital was found in North Carolina dressed like a doctor and driving a stolen ambulance with a dead deer wedged in the back. It wasn't known where Leon Holliman Jr., 37, got the deer, which had been dead for some time."

The Holiday slowdown: I am away from the Land of Wilkes, basking in the sun of an unnamed port city far to the south. That is part of the reason why I have not kept up on this blog. That, and final exams, an office move carried out by the same people who designed the New Orleans levies, I believe, shopping, driving, etc. My pre-new year's resolution is to keep more current in the coming year. And learn French finally, finish Don Quixote, quit procrastinating, go back to the 'Y', fix my bike, lose 15 pounds, grow two inches taller and bring world peace. The last has just as good a chance as the others.

I will be glad to get back to the Twin Hamlets and back to the book club. Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas! (no war on Christmas here)
