Not Mayberry

Can a shy, retiring teacher from the big city find true happiness in the small town of Wilkesboro NC, which even the locals call "Moonshine Capital of the World."

About that family story about Cuba ...

... the one Carmen's brother coerced the whole family into posing for a commemorative picture of. Seems like the Old Port City Tribune is actually going to publish the story. Only the picture is not good enough so they wanted their professional photographer to do a new picture. He was so excited about it that he flew Carmen down for the weekend to have the picture taken. Sometime next week you people who have to rely on the Old Port City rag for news will get to see it.

And Carmen got a couple of days away from the cold just as the bottom fell out of the thermometer. Then it snowed, just as she was driving back up the mountain from Charlotte Airport.

Ben the Cat was so happy to see mom return she actually came out from under the bed.

So I hear. Even Uncle Ray looked ok (or at least he isn't complaining too much).

And Tia did get a weekend in the old port city.

Very bliss.
